This is the first morning routine, which works for me. Empowering, energizing and I am able to carry a sense of calm and accomplishment all day. I get the feeling of having done all my self maintenance must dos.
The method is taken from Hal Elrod’s book the “Miracle Morning”. It breaks down each morning into your S.A.V.E.R.S. It’s an acronym for
- S = Silence
- A = Affirmations
- V = Visualization
- E = Exercise
- R = Reading
- S = Scribing (or journaling )
I start with silence or better meditation for 24 minutes, one minute for every hour of the day. Then I am set for the day and I replaced my morning news binge with a far healthier practice.
Following my silence, I read my affirmations.
Repeating affirmations affect the subconscious mind, which in turn, influences behavior, habits, actions and reactions. But more importantly they keep your ego in check. Repeat them throughout the day to stay focussed an present. I mix affirmations for success and abundance wth affirmations helping me to stay on my spiritual path.
Once I’ve finished my affirmations I take a few minutes to visualize what it will be like when I’ve accomplished these things. I think about what it will feel like when I’ve reached my goals.
The most important part of the visualizing process is not only visualizing what it will be like when you’ve reached the goals, but what it looks like on your way to the goals. Imagine the work, training and help you have to get there.
I follow with exercising. I am a Yoga enthusiast but I don’t like to do a full Yoga session so early in the morning. So I do 20 minutes or even less of rather speed Yoga. I do more work out or Yoga later in the day, mostly in the early evening.
Reading. I found it odd to read a book in the morning, but then most of us read something in the morning, don’t you? Emails the news, our favorite website to go. So why not reading something inspiring or studying in the morning? It turned out it works for me and does not distract me with having opinions about the latest mass shooting or disaster de jour.
Scribing (or journaling). I finish the process writing down a few thoughts into my MacJournal. I add a practice which I learned from James Altucher. He recommends to write down 10 ideas every day in order to train your mental muscle . I have done this for almost half a year and the results are stunning. It gives you a sense of you can do everything because you will always come up with ideas what to do and how to execute them.
